“Welcome to the Great Bustard Rally 2014. This is the 8th running of this great event as an Endurance Road Rally and is the final round of the 2014 Sportway Tyres Endurance Road Rally Championship.

As last year, the start and finish are both at the Highwayman Inn at Cannards Grave, Shepton Mallet, with trailer parking space nearby making your logistics easy.

Following feedback we have moved the start time of this year’s event forward to 11.00am, with the 1st car to finish before midnight. We offer over 20 selectifs still totalling almost 85 miles. This year we have dropped the rougher and less popular selectifs in Longleat in favour of more use of Worthy Farm which is in absolute prime condition, and some exciting all new selectifs on smooth tarmac & concrete. New routes of old favourites will further add to the challenge. We will once again be running short regularity and standard sections to test your navigational skills and teamwork.

We are accepting entries on line using the popular Chelmsford MC system including their seeding system, so there will be a ‘live’ entry list available in the run up to the event.

Entries at only £240 must be paid up by 21st November 2014 at the latest. The earlier you enter the better your seeding is likely to be against competitors with similar results.

We will be running a Clubman’s category event for those of you who do not have an MSA competition licence this year, aimed at newcomers and those who happen to have an Endurance Car at the back of the garage somewhere. Here is the chance to blow off the cobwebs with a minimum of hassle. We hope this will attract new competitors to try the sport of Endurance Road Rallying and tempt old ones back.

Thanks are especially due to our landowners, many of whom allow us to use their property in exchange for our support of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. Please consider a contribution with your entry and we will be collecting at signing on.

If for any reason you can’t compete, our chief marshal Worth Birkill would love to hear from you. Contact details at the back of the regs.

Whatever your level of expertise, driving, navigating or marshalling there is a welcome for you on the Great Bustard rally. See you in Shepton Mallet on 29th November.”
