Great Bustard 2013 Regs

Salisbury MC“Welcome to the Great Bustard Rally 2013. This is the seventh running of this great event as an Endurance Road Rally and is the final round of the 2013 Sportway Tyres Endurance Road Rally Championship.

This year, the nature of the event has changed a bit; we now have new access to large parts of the Longleat estate which in mileage terms more than compensates for the loss of the Keevil Airfield venue. So this year we
aim to offer over 30 selectifs totalling a fantastic 100 miles. This includes of course our fabled mega selectifs at
Worthy Farm where there are now several new roads built for the last festival. In addition we will once again be running regularity and standard sections to test your navigational skills and teamwork.

The start and finish are now both in the same place at the Highwayman Inn at Cannards Grave, Shepton Mallet, with trailer parking space nearby making your logistics easier.

The overall schedule is similar to previous years, the start at lunchtime on Saturday and finishing for an early breakfast on Sunday morning.

This year we are accepting entries on line using the popular Chelmsford MC system including their seeding system, so there will be a “live” entry list available in the run up to the event.

Entries at the value for money price of £250 Must be paid up by 18th November 2013 at the latest. The earlier you enter the better your seeding is likely to be against competitors with similar results.

We will be running a Clubman‟s category event for those of you who do not have an MSA competition licence this year, aimed at newcomers and those who happen to have an Endurance Car at the back of the garage somewhere. Here is the chance to blow off the cobwebs with a minimum of hassle. We hope this will attract new competitors to try the sport of Endurance Road Rallying and tempt old ones back.

If for any reason you can‟t compete, our chief marshal Worth Birkill would love to hear from you. Contact details at the back of the regs.

Whatever your level of expertise, driving, navigating or marshalling there is a welcome for you on the Great Bustard rally. See you in Shepton Mallet on 30thNovember.”
