Doonhamer 2014 Regs

Doonhammer '14“Welcome to the fifth running of the Doonhamer Classic Rally.

The start & finish venue will again be the excellent Barony Agricultural College near Dumfries, where there are two test sites.

The 2014 route uses all of our already well – established venues, some of which were new in 2013, connected by classic quiet roads in beautiful South West Scotland.

During the event you will be challenged by 16 driving tests on a mix of tarmac, concrete and some smooth gravel, all of the “open” variety, with no reversing, designed to test the driver’s skill and not mental agility.

For 2014, we have striven to reduce queues at tests starts by cutting double useage.

Road sections between the tests are traversed by using simple navigation from a tulip style road book. No maps should be required to complete the route and there are no regularities.

At signing on, you’ll get a hot roll and drink. Lunch is at the Lockerbie Lorry Park and to top off your day, you’ll have a hot meal back at the Barony. All meals are included in the entry fee.

The Barony offers ample room for trailers as well as competing cars but please park considerately as instructed by marshals.

New for 2014 is a team award!. See item 13 of these regulations.

This year, we are delighted to add the name ‘Oakbank Services’ to our event title, in recognition of their unstinting support and for creating a test especially for this event, at Collin.

And we are also delighted to welcome & add local firm WC in Fields as enthusiastic sponsors.

Thanks also to the other landowners & officials who have helped to create this Doonhamer.”
